Well, this isn’t the first time, but enough time has passed that it certainly feels like it. I haven’t updated this blog in quite a while, due to my focus on the novel I’ve been writing for the past few months and will be finished with by the end of this month. At over 120,000 words currently (and still more to go), it’s a bit on the heavy side for my chosen genres: Young Adult Fantasy/Sci-Fi but once I’m finished vomiting all the words I think I need onto the paper, I’ll be putting this novel on a diet and cutting out everything I don’t need and I imagine that will take me another month or so.

If you’re surprised that I’ve been working on a novel for a while, well…that’s reasonable. I don’t tend to publicize it too often (though you will see me mention it on Facebook and Twitter from time to time). I’ll have more details on it after I’ve finished. Still debating whether or not I should go down the self-publishing route or send the manuscript to larger publishers and hope for the best. I think it’s good enough to appeal to a publisher and make them throw money and advertising behind it but of course, I can’t be sure. I guess I’ll find out soon.

By the end of June or early July, I’ll be finished with the editing phase (or the bulk of the editing phase, at least) and will be embarking on the sequel and a collaborative short story project with a buddy of mine that I’m keeping under wraps for now. More details once we’ve started.

So, what have I been up to? Well, I’m in my senior year of University and I’m expecting to graduate either next semester or the one after that, either way, I’m almost done with my University tenure. Due to my rather hectic work and class schedule, combined with my novel writing, I was sort of forced into taking a hiatus. Well, that and I’ve been getting a little lazy. Sorry about that.

Now, I’m sure my patient readers have noticed the influx of posts relating to headphones, music and all of that good stuff from my other blog, Musical Musings. Well, I’ve decided that, instead of spreading my work across two sites, I’m going to consolidate everything into one. I hope this doesn’t create any issues but I think it’s best to concentrate entirely on one site rather than two. It works better for me. I won’t be taking the Musical Musings site down but I don’t think I’ll be updating it from now on. I’ll keep you posted if I change my mind.

So that’s it for now and I’m going to go back to writing the next Great American Young Adult Novel (or so I’m calling it). I have a couple of reviews on the way and a few more posts in mind and will keep me busy for a while. When will they be posted? Umm…eventually. I’m not going to make any promises about any daily or weekly updates so we’ll see how it goes from here. I do enjoy writing blog for this blog and getting back into doing this should be fun.
